About Joe.Blog
So what’s all this about then, eh?
Well, welcome! This is my blog. It’s called Joe.Blog. On it I hope to write about music that I’m enjoying and any news that I feel is pertinent for me to comment on. My reason for blogging about music is pretty simple – I enjoy listening to music a lot, and I like writing about it in a bid to share the stuff I’ve really dug with others.
This blog is, like so many others, a constant work in progress. I don’t have a set game plan and I don’t have a particular manner in which I hope to cover this (extremely broad) subject matter. I simply hope I can continue to deliver content that you and others find entertaining, and that will help great bands find listeners.
Got questions? Maybe some of the following FAQs will answer them… if not, please contact me.
I’m a band/label/promoter. Will you write about my band/label/show/festival?
I always like hearing about what’s happening in the music world, so by all means please get in touch with me if you think you have something I might be interested in!
As is the case with many other bloggers, my intent is that my blog’s content represents what I am personally supportive of and excited about. As a result, I can’t promise to blog about your music or ventures, but I will endeavour to listen to what you have to offer and consider it for inclusion.
I love getting stuff in the mail. You’re guaranteed to have me prioritise listening to your stuff if you send me press releases or CDs by post, so let me know if you’d like to get my postal address.
I’m an artist/label. You’ve posted an MP3 or video which we would like you to take down.
My intent in posting digital music is purely for the purposes of encouraging people to check out and hopefully purchase the band’s music. However, if you would like me to remove your music, let me know and I will gladly comply. It’s even better if you can point me to an alternate source that I can direct people to – that way they still get to hear the music I’m telling them about!
I liked that track! Can you send me the album?
No.
Who are you?
Actually, I don’t get asked this but I’m going to give you the short story just in case you’re interested:
- I’m a guy that lives in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney.
- I work as a software developer from home by day.
- By night and weekends I do some work as a producer, musician and remixer.
- I’ve been playing musical instruments since I first picked up drum sticks at around age 4.
- I am married to a wonderful girl named Carly and have a daughter named Nadia. They’re awesome.
- I’m a Christian and believe that Jesus is a pretty awesome dude
- The first album I bought was Dire Straits’ Love Over Gold
- One of my favourite foods at the moment is a Thai dish called Prik Khing. If you see it on a menu, try it.
- I enjoy photography as a hobby. Sometimes I post photos, but fortunately not too often.
- I am a diehard Radiohead and U2 fan. No I’m not ashamed about the latter, though I do distance myself from the last two albums and consider their 90s output to be their best work, followed by Boy and War.
